TYPES OF PLASTIC LEG BANDS

These pictures represent the most typically used plastic leg bands. They come in many sizes, check with the manufacturer or your club for the ones which may best fit the type of birds you band.

Bandettes & Split Plastic leg bands - the smaller bands are the "split" bandette (usually put on with the help of a banding tool - seen in below picture). As you can see the larger bandettes wrap around the leg, but are flexible enough to expand. These types of leg bands are a wide strip of flexible plastic; many Band companies & Pigeon supply houses (Links Page) offer these types of leg bands.

Snap Band for domestic breeds of pigeons - may work on the larger species of exotic doves/pigeons.
