Back in the early 1980's when I was investigating the color mutations being bred in the Diamond Dove I received the breeding charts below so that any color could be applied in either chart & it's inheritance determined. The charts were sent to IDS by H.B. "David" Jenkins of South Australia.

"I have been prompted to write with the purpose of perhaps helping ascertain whether the colors which are being bred in Diamond Doves are either sex-linked or recessive. I have enclosed a breeding chart showing how to pair the birds first, to find out how the mutation is inherited & then how to continue to breed the mutation in future years."

Click on the link and see the charts. They are very simple & quite easy to use. These charts should be of help to anyone wanting to do color genetics in their birds. These charts can be applied to any species of bird you may be working with.
